Netflix Is Already Having a Huge 2018

Everyone has had their ups and downs with Netflix. It’s not one of those love/hate relationships, it’s more of the type of feeling when you want a McRib at McDonald’s instead of the usual McDouble, then you go to McDonald’s and they say, “Sorry, we don’t have the McRib anymore”, then after a long sigh, you’ll be like, “Alright, I’ll take the McDouble.” You’re not exactly pissed off at McDonald’s, just disappointed.

Netflix does that every once in a while. Your favorite shows and movies just somehow magically disappear. They have taken away some of the greatest binge-worthy shows in recent memory, some of which it still hurts to even mention. How I Met Your Mother, It’s Always Sunny, The League… just to name a few. The streaming service also seems to add some random movies that just don’t make sense from time to time. It’s like they’re sitting there in their corporate offices going, “Alright, let’s take away Shawshank Redemption and add in Drillbit Taylor. Sounds like a good plan.”

*Side note: Watched Drillbit Taylor for the first time last night. It was just awful. Just not good. I regrettably watched the whole thing, not sure why, but I did it.*

Moves like that make me scratch my head. Why take away arguably the greatest movie of all time and then add in a complete crap fest with Drillbit Taylor in the next set of movies?

Well, Netflix is back in my good graces after this latest set of movies. I mean, I can’t tell you how many movies I added to “my list” last night. Just to name a few… Godfather Part I and Part II (Part III is also on there now, but who cares), Wedding Crashers, Caddyshack, Training Day… I mean holy crap. This is the gold mine of movies you’ve watched a hundred times, but will continue to watch because they are so damn good.

Huge start to the year for Netflix. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching the Office for the 4th time through or Sons of Anarchy Season 7 for the fifth time, but now I finally have a string of movies to change up my routine a little bit. Damn, this is going to be a good year.
